Former St. Anthony football player killed in Iraq brightened our world with his smile by David Flores KENS5

"When The Wolves Came - A Memoir", written by Father Ted Pfeifer in 2007 and 2008,chronicles his life from his roots in south Texas through his life as a missionary to Oaxaca,Mexico. The book is 72 pages long and contains a forward by Bishop Michael Pfeifer, Father Ted's younger brother, and an introduction by J. Michael Parker, the former religion writer for the San Antonio Express News. The book sold out the initial printing of 300 copies and a

St. Anthony graduate Brett Dodd '06, is coming down the home stretch of a fantastic four-year career at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Va. Dodd has won three conference pole vault championships in the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Dodd won the 2008 and 2010 MEAC indoor pole vault championships. In February of this year, Dodd cleared a school indoor record height of 15 feet, 7 inches to take the gold medal. Dodd is also the defending MEAC outdoor pole vault champion. Dodd's NSU career includes four team indoor conference championships and three conference outdoor championships to date. Dodd, a psychology major, is a two-time member of the NSU and MEAC All-Academic Teams.

St. Anthony graduate Blair Sohl '06, has won the 2010 RMAC Indoor Champion in the Pole Vault. Also earned First Team All-RMAC honors helping the team win the championship. Cleared a career best 4.81 meters (15' 9 1/4"), a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. On Feb. 3, Sohl was RMAC Field Athlete of the Week. Blair also earned 3rd Team All-RMAC honors by tying for fifth at the 2009 Indoor Championships, tied for 2nd at the 2008 RMAC Outdoor Championships earning First Team All-RMAC honors, finished 3rd at the 2008 RMAC Indoor Championships earning 2nd Team All-RMAC honors. In football, Sohl played in 17 career games, including six last season (2009). He
had 16 rushes for 40 yards and four catches for 44 yards in six games during the 2009 campaign. Sohl, a major in human performance and physical education is a two-time A.D.'s Honor Roll selection.
