Catholic Schools Week 2012

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

2012 is the 39th time Catholic Schools Week has been held; the first celebration was in 1974.

The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2012 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Academics. Service.” The annual observance starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2012 is January 29 to February 5. Schools typically celebrate Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open houses and activities for students, families, parishioners and the community at large.

The theme focuses on three priorities that Catholic schools establish that make them stand out from other educational institutions. Children are taught faith – not just the basics of Christianity, but how to have a relationship with God. Academics, which in Catholic schools are held to very high standards, help each child reach his or her potential. Service, the giving of one’s time and effort to help others, is taught both as an expression of faith and good citizenship.

CSW SCHEDULE FOR ST. ANTHONY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL:

MONDAY: PARENT APPRECIATION DAY

We will have Donuts for Dads & Muffins for Moms! Parents, as you drop off your son or daughter in the morning an administrator will be going to your vehicle to provide you with a little breakfast treat. It is our small way of thanking you for all you do.

TUESDAY: VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DAY

Volunteers of SACHS will be receiving a special thank you card. Volunteering at SACHS is something that so many people do and without the support of our volunteers our school would not be the success it is today.

WEDNESDAY: FACULTY APPRECIATION DAY

A luncheon will be provided to our faculty for the awesome job that they do with the students of SACHS every day. Please take a minute to thank the teachers that serve the community of SACHS every day.

THURSDAY: CLERGY & RELIGIOUS APPRECIATION DAY

We will celebrate liturgy on this day. Please feel free to join us at 8:00AM in the SACHS chapel. We will be sending a special gift to the clergy and religious who sponsor SACHS and who help us throughout the year. Also, please take a minute to thank Sister Luz Moreno for all she does. We are very blessed to have her in our community. Sister Luz is currently our only vowed religious at SACHS.

FRIDAY: STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY

Friday morning from 7:30-8:30 AM we will host FREE a Cowboy Breakfast for our students. Breakfast will include Bean & Cheese and Bacon & Egg tacos and Biscuits from Taco Taco Restaurant! YUM! Also, students are invited to come in Cowboy dress also at no cost to the students.
