Jacob Garcia's art installation view of artworks and the title of his show: Unnatural Amalgams

Art Exhibitions Closing Out the Year

Two student exhibitions are currently closing out the year at SACHS Library. Jacob Garcia's show is called Unnatural Amalgams and features sculptures, assemblages, and drawings. Jacob is a graduating senior. He makes works that are personal and unique, using worn down found objects along bright and shiny things found in nature. Danny Liu's show is called Drawings and Paintings and features 2d works. Danny is heading to Houston next year. He is a multi-talented artist in visual and musical realms. The works will be on display in SACHS Library until the end of finals week, Wednesday May 25th, 2016.

Back in Black

School has started again for the 2015-2016 school year. The library is flexing its muscles and growing with many exciting opportunities. Check out any upcoming 3D Printer Workshop, and have a look at the new Makerspace webpage. Students are able to print 3D things for an estimated $4 an hour, with a $4 minimum. The library will feature many student art shows in a gallery setting this year. Students will also get familiar with research resources during their many library instruction sessions. Teachers please contact your librarian to schedule a session designed for your school projects. Stay tuned for more readVIBES information, getting people excited about what they read over the summer.
