The scholarship was established by the Vargas family in memory of their beloved son, brother, cousin, and nephew, Matt Vargas, who attended St. Anthony all four years of his high school academic/athletic career. Families may go through hardships while having students in private school. The scholarship is designed to help at least one family in need every school year; and is given to a student who carries out the mission of the school and its values. Requirements:
- Send in a short video of (1) what catholic education means to you (the student) and (2) how do you (the student) plan on giving back to the St. Anthony during your time as a student and as an alumnus.

- Two recommendation letters. Can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to 3200 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212.
- Videos must be sent by the application link no later than May 31, 2020.
- Recommendation letters must be post marked (or) received via email by May 31, 2020.
